29 May 2015 Kamal Jumblatt was the founder of the Progressive Socialist Party in Lebanon. He was assassinated in his car during Lebanon's Civil War.

His father, Mahmoud Takieddine, was a prominent dignitary in the area, a governor of different regions and a director of Al-Maaref.
